I read this book in one day. It held my attention, obviously. I could feel the emotions of the people. Few books do that. This book made that time in history come alive. My heart goes out to the many people in the nations who are right now fighting for their homeland and for Israel striving to keep theirs.Product details

I have enjoyed reading this book very much. Reading this was made easier because of the very human story line and interesting historical content.The pious and knowledgeable matriarch gives a sense of stoic resolve and her unfailing faith in the prophecies she had investigated from the ancient texts gives balance to the idolatrous upheavals of the time.
This has given me a desire to learn more about this inter-testament period, and, indeed, about the author herself. I appreciate C M Tucker's passion and desire for a return to pure religious values based on the covenants of the ancient prophets.
A short story with a happy ending, HEBREW HEROES proves to be an uplifting yarn meshing the Judaic POV with a stimulating storyline. Free from graphic descriptions of violence, this would make a fine addition to any library for those with young children. It is a story of love, bravery and faith mingled with a sub-plot liking itself to the New testament account of the Prodigal son.
I found this to be an interesting 'TALE' based on facts of Jewish history. The historical events are really what leads up to the 'Festival of Lights' more commonly known a Channukah. The story does culminate in the renewal of the Temple in Jerusalem, but no mention of the miracle of the eight days of light is made.
You can learn a great deal about the Jewish History in this book.
This is well written book, capturing the imagination worth its storyline & inspiring the spirit with its heroism under persecution. The Jewish nation have suffered greatly & frequently throughout history, but here is a tale of triumph through the power of God.
You know how many nights I stayed up wa-a-a-a-y past my night-night time, watching this e-story on my itty bitty cell phone?! I could not stop to take a breath, it just wouldn't let me go and I was spell-bound by this story. More, more, s'il vouz plait! More of this genre, from Jewish perspective and during "Old Testament" times with story heroes whose trust is in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, their hearts aflame with passionate love in obedience to His Torah!
I purchased this with a rather nonchalant attitude, then I started to read it because I was bored. I was very pleasantly surprised. I thought this would be composed of several different tales into one book. Not so. This is an single book that would be romantic, adventurous and to my surprise, rather articulate in the Scriptures. Despite this being a Tale, the characters quote scripture with an ease in their conversations that is to be envied. I have not met a book that so clearly uses scriptures from the Old Testament to point out that Christ is Christ. Recommended if you want a beautiful story or if you want something for research if you want to witness to Jews.
